How to Fix iPhone Vibration Function Not Working

Tips 1: Switch iPhone Vibration Motor

We need to confirm that the iPhone vibration motor is turned on, we can switch the iPhone vibration motor to turn it on.

Flip your iPhone’s Silent / Ring switch back and forth (the switch is above the iPhone Volume Button on the left side of your iPhone), and you’ll feel a buzz if “Vibrate on Ring” or “Vibrate on Silent” is turned on in Settings.

Tips 2: Make sure Vibrations are on

We need to check if the ‘Vibrate on Ring’ and ‘Vibrate on Silent’ are turned on. If “Vibrate on Ring” is turned on in Settings, your iPhone will vibrate when you pull the Silent / Ring switch toward the front of your iPhone. If “Vibrate on Silent” is turned on, your iPhone will vibrate when you push the switch toward the back of your iPhone. If both are turned off, your iPhone won’t vibrate when you flip the switch.

Make sure Vibrations are turned on:

- Go to Settings on your iPhone

- Scroll down to Sounds

- At the very top, you’ll see ‘Vibrate on Ring’ and ‘Vibrate on Silent’

- Make sure both of them are toggled On (green)

Tips 3: Choose the right vibration pattern

After turn on both vibrate icon, please choose the right vibration pattern, make sure the None option is not checked under Vibration.

You can go to Settings-> Sounds & Haptics > Text Tone > Vibration, and then choose one of the vibration patterns provided.

Tips 4: Reset all settings

The iPhone vibration function not working is possibly caused by iPhone setting problems, we can try to fix it by resetting all settings.

Reset All Settings doesn't erase any of the personal information from your iPhone, but it does restore everything in the Settings app to factory defaults.

In order to reset all settings on iPhone, please tap Settings on iPhone Display Touch Screen, and then tap General-> Reset-> Reset All Setting.

Tips 5: Restart iPhone

As we know, many iPhone simple problems can be fixed by restarting, we can try to fix vibration problem by restarting.

In order to restart the iPhone 8 or earlier, press and hold the iPhone power button until the slider appears, drag the slider to turn your device completely off, after your device turns off, press and hold the iPhone power button again until you see the Apple logo.

In order to restart the iPhone X or later, press and hold the power button and either volume button until the slider appears, drag the slider to turn your device completely off, after your device turns off, press and hold the iPhone power button again until you see the Apple logo.

Tips 6: Back up iPhone

If none of the above troubleshooting tips are working, then we should check iPhone hardware problem, so we have to back up the iPhone before we are going to fix it in hardware aspect.

In order to back up iPhone, please connect the iPhone to the computer by iPhone Lightning Cable, and then open iTunes, use iTunes to back iPhone.

Tip 7: Send your iPhone to Apple Care or iPhone repair shop

Hardware repair of iPhone is very complicated and requires professional phone repair tools and iPhone repair skills.
